Blacks In Government
History

Blacks In Government® (BIG) was established in 1975 and incorporated in 1976 by a small group of African Americans at the Public Health Services which is a part of the Department of Health, Education and Welfare in the Parklawn building in Rockville, Maryland.

National Board of Directors

On behalf of Blacks In Government National Board of Directors (NBoD) I am honored to welcome you to our Annual National Delegates Assembly (NDA) here in Arlington Virginia.

National Executive Committee

The ever important “each one teach one” proverb dates back to slavery when oral proverbs were particularly important since our ancestors relied on word of mouth communications almost entirely. Of course, during slavery our ancestors were denied an education.

Regional Leadership

The National Organization of Blacks In Government (BIG) is sponsoring a Training In Communications (TIC) program. The purpose of this program is to provide young people training in communication and leadership skills, and practical experiences to develop those skills.

Regions & Chapters

The Purpose of the regional council is to implement the goals, policies and objectives of Blacks In Government as set forth in the National Constitution.
