Welcome to the BIG DOT Chapter
of Blacks In Government® Website

BIG DOT Headquarters is located in Washington, DC.

We are committed to building partnerships throughout the Department of Transportation, Federal organizations and public institutions in Washington, DC.

Our community outreach expands from public to charter schools in the District of Columbia, Montgomery, Prince George, and Baltimore Counties. Our aim is to build partnerships to increase education and high school graduation rate, ultimately resulting in career leading to Science Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) career fields.

Our five steps to success are:

The BIG DOT Chapter functions as an employee support group, an advocacy group and resource group for Black Civil Servants at the federal, state and local level. The organization functions as a nonprofit, nonpartisan group. BIG's goals are to:

  • Be an advocate of equal opportunity for Blacks in government.
  • Eliminate practices of racism and racial discrimination against Blacks in government.
  • Promote professionalism among Blacks in government.
  • Develop and promote programs which will enhance ethnic pride and educational opportunities for Blacks in government.
  • Establish a mechanism for the gathering and dissemination of information of Blacks in government.
  • Provide a nonpartisan platform on major issues of local, regional and national significance that affects Blacks in government.
